Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

1. Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan or self-reliant India campaign is the vision of
new India envisaged by the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra
Modi. On 12 May 2020,our PM raised a clarion call to the nation giving a
kick start to Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and announced the special
economic and comprehensive package of INR 20 lakh crores - equivalent
to 10% of India's GDP to fight COVID-19 pandemic in India
2. Government of India is taking several steps to ensure that we are well
prepared to face the challenge s and treats posed by COVID-19. With active
support of citizens of India , we have been able to mitigate
the spread of the virus so far . On of the most important factors in the fight with the virus is to
empower the citizens with accurate information and enable them to take precautions as per the
advisories being issued by different Ministers.
3. After the announcement of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan by the Prime Minister on 12 May 2020,
announcement were made on 12 October 2020 under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan 2.O :-
•SBI Utsav cards were distributed.
•11 States were sanctioned Rs. 3621 crore towards the capital expenditure as an intrest-free loan.

4. Five Pillars of Atmanirbhar Bharat :
#Economy - an economy that brings Quantum Jump rather than incremental change.
#Infrastructure - an infrastructure that became the Identity of modern India .
#System - A system that is driven by technology which can fulfill the dreams of the 21st Century, a
system not based on the policy of the past century.
#Demography - Our vibrant Demography is our strength in the world's largest democracy.
#Demand - The cycle of demand and supply chain in our economy , is the strength that
needs to be harnessed to it's full potential.
5. Thus, there are challenges before Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan , but it's targeted approach
promotes inclusive growth. It also includes aspects like empowerment of citizens, which is the
capital to build a better India.
